NEED TO KNOW FOR PARENTS
WELCOME
Everyone is invited to come! Sometimes that means teens who may not feel like they know many people, yet, but that's what we're here for.
All our leaders spend the whole night making sure everyone is included by introducing themselves and other teens and personally inviting everyone to participate.
SAFETY
We want you to feel comfortable and confident in leaving your teens with us.
During the event, our building is closed to public access and heavily chaperoned by adult volunteers who have gone through a background check and our Child Safety Training certification.
ALLERGIES
We will have gluten-free pizza and breakfast options available.
On your teen's registration form, please list all allergies so we can be aware and helpful with your teen's needs.
CONTACT
Even in the middle of the night, there are times when being in touch is important.
We may need to call you if your teen has a medical event, a disciplinary issue, or needs to talk with you, so please list a phone number where you can be reached during the event when registering your teen.
In the confirmation email following registration, we will provide two phone numbers you can text / call to get in touch with your teen during the event.
PERMISSION
Your teen only attends INSOMNIA with your permission, so every teen needs to be registered by a parent or guardian.
You can register your teen online now. It only takes a couple minutes!
VOLUNTEER
This event only happens every year by the sacrifice of dozens of adults like you.
If you would be interested in helping us at this year's event, let us know! There are so many ways to volunteer, and we'd love to work alongside you.

EVENT COORDINATOR
"It's a privilege to get to run this event each year and to have you send your teens to spend so much time with us. If you have any questions about Insomnia at all, please reach out! I would love to talk."

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
-
Q. Will we be sleeping at all?A. Nope! The plan is to stay up all night with games, activities, challenges, friends, and food. If someone's not feeling well and needs to lie down, we'll of course have a quiet, safe space for them.
-
Q. Should I bring a sleeping bag / pillow?A. Nope! If we see you laying around, we'll know we need to turn up the energy again. We're up all night, unless you're not feeling well. In that case, we'll have a blanket and pillow for you.
-
Q. Can I bring my own food?A. We'll have lots of different food options available for gluten-free, nut-free, and dairy-free teens. If you have health concerns beyond that, please feel free to bring food along. We'll have fridge and freezer space available for you. Other than that, we'll provide the snacks!
-
Q. Can I bring my own video/board games?A. You can with a couple conditions. 1) We'll ask you to keep them put away until the You-Choose parts of the night. 2) Once the event is started, we won't be changing the inputs on the TVs at all, so TVs won't be available for any game consoles you bring. 3) We're not responsible for any games you bring along. And 4) we'd ask that you share whatever you bring.
-
Q. What if I need to sit out of an activity?A. We'll have an option for you. We know no two people are alike, and everyone has unique needs. We want to help find options that work well for you, whether that's sitting out from a dark game, avoiding strobe lights, or needing to not be in with loud music.
-
Q. What if I or my parents think I shouldn't watch the movie?A. If you shouldn't (or just don't want to...) watch the movie we pick, our gym will be stuffed to the gills with snacks, video games, board games, and some other activities for you to hang out in with your friends instead. The choice is yours!
-
Q. What will we eat?Around midnight, we'll have pizza (with gluten-free pizza available), chips, candy, lots and lots of water, and soda. Around 7am, we'll have build-your-own breakfast burittos - scrambled eggs, sausage, shredded cheese, salsa, and tortillas. We'll have a stash of protein bars, gummy bears, and Gatorades for anyone who needs a little extra during the night.
